Features of MOPPI
MOPPI, the chrome extension for Optimizely, groups all information and functions into individual tabs that are accessible via the user interface. All the features of MOPPI are listed up here, according to the tabs where they are located.
The Simple Mode
The Simple Mode is the beginner’s mode for MOPPI. It is primarily intended for users who want to see which experiments are active and to which variations they have been assigned as users.
It also allows the user to easily switch between variations by selecting the variation they want to see from a select box that displays all variations for an experiment.
Switching between this very simple interface and the Optimizely Pro mode is done by flipping a small switch in the MOPPI interface.
The Professional Mode offers all available information in one interface, which considerably simplifies work and quality assurance.
The Professional Mode
You will find the following tabs:
- Campaigns
- Experiments
- Pages
- Events
- Visitor
- Support
Each tab offers the possibility to copy the displayed data to the clipboard. This, of course, greatly simplifies communication when questions arise due to different displays on different devices.
But let’s look at the tabs in detail.
Tab: Campaigns
In the Campaigns tab you will find all information about the active campaigns on the currently loaded page.
Each campaign and its attributes are displayed separately and you will receive the following information for activated campaigns:
- the name of the campaign
- the id of the campaign
- whether it is an A/B test or a personalisation campaign
- the number of experiments in the campaign and information about them:
- the name of the experiment
- the id of the experiment
- Information on the campaign audiences and
- whether or not the current visitor is in campaign holdback
If you want to learn more, go ahead and
Tab: Experiments
The Experiments tab also displays detailed information, but not on campaigns, but on the active experiments on the currently loaded page.
Each experiment is displayed individually along with the associated information. You will find this information:
- the name of the experiment
- the id of the experiment
- whether it is part of an A/B test or a personalisation campaign
- information on the experiment audience
- the number of variations
- detailed information on each variation:
- the name of the variation
- the id of the variation
- current traffic allocation
- wether or not it is the activated variation for the current user
But what would a list of variations be if you couldn’t switch between them?
Switching the active variation is certainly one of the most valuable features of this tab.
Tab: Pages
- the name of the activated page as named in Optimizely
- the id of the activated page
- the API name of the activated page
- the number of tags defined with the page and also
- all tags including their values
Tab: Events
- page activation event
- page view event
- click event
- custom event
- the name of the event
- the id of the event
- the API name of the event
- the category of the event
- the capture timestamp of the event
- all tags and their values
Tab: Visitor
The visitor tab displays some of the information available for the current visitor, but the amount of information will increase significantly in future versions of MOPPI, currently these are the following:
- custom attributes
- dynamic customer profiles
- general information
- location information
- platform information
Please remember that this information is taken from the Optimizely data. I will expand this bit by bit, you can rely on that.
Support
The support tab is a purely informative tab, which should show where you can get help for dealing with MOPPI, where you can ask questions, it refers to this homepage but it also explains how you can support MOPPI as a project.
